About AFRICALLI
The Africalli Mission and Vision
AFRICALLI aims to improve awareness, research, clinical practice, and patient outcomes in allergy and clinical immunology across Africa. The Alliance promotes education, collaboration, and capacity building while supporting professionals and patients through shared knowledge and stakeholder engagement.
Why Africalli Exists
Allergic diseases and immunologic conditions are a growing health challenge across Africa, yet access to specialist knowledge, diagnostics, training, research infrastructure, and context-specific guidance remains uneven. AFRICALLI exists to connect expertise, strengthen local capacity, and support standardised approaches that can be adapted to African health systems.
Structure
Founders
In 2024, representatives from six African allergy societies met and resolved to establish a continental organisation to advance allergy and clinical immunology across Africa.
In August 2025, the founding representatives developed and adopted the organisation’s constitution and bylaws, creating the governance framework for the alliance. Subsequently, in September 2025, founding members elected the inaugural Executive Committee from a pool of candidates who had responded to an open call for nominations facilitated by the World Allergy Organization. The founding group included representatives from Angola, Botswana, Cape Verde, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Mauritius, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe, reflecting AFRICALLI’s broad pan-African representation and commitment to regional collaboration.
